「ボクが夜逃げしたら、母は生きていけるかなぁ」

“If I do a moonlight flit, my mother will be in trouble.”

　　私が大学２年生で留年した年の夏休み、両親は心配したのだろう。どういうわけか、私の短期アメリカ旅行のために５０万円を支払ってくれた。決して裕福ではない親だった。親戚からお金を借りていることも知っていた。

   When  I repeated a school year at university, my parents worried about me and paid 500000 yen for my short trip to the U.S. during the summer vacation.  My parents were not rich and I knew they borrowed money from their relatives.  

　　自分が父親になって、子供三人を大学に行かせるためにお金を用意するのは大変だった。今更ながら、親のありがたさを感じている。

「そんな母親を置いて夜逃げか・・・」

    Now I'm a father of 3 daughters and know it is very difficult to prepare for their tuition fees.  I appreciate for my parents' help.

“I cannot  do a moonlight flit.”
